My brother's going to be starting drums at some point in the not-too-distant future. He wants advice on what to get. He'll need a decent kit at a decent price. He probably won't be very interested in it-he wasn't at any other instrument he played-so it won't be a very expensive one, just something he can belt around on but isn't so badly made it puts him off playing or anything like that. Any advice welcome. Thanks,
    Dave

A pearl export kit is good value but if you really think he's not gonna be too interested just get a cheap SX kit or something like that. An export will be minimum 500, but it mightn't include cymbals. The SX comes with awful cymbals but he can always update them if he wants.

i have this kit for sale. ive been playing for a year and a half an im only buying a new kit because i couldnt think of any other xmas present!

these were great drums for a beginner. plus 2nd hand means if he decides he doesnt want to play any more you havent lost a great deal of money.
