Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone notice the French connection is on RTE 1 tonight 3:20, but it was just on yesterday (30th Dec) on RTE1 12:35am! Same move on RTE 1 two nights in a row!. Very strange haven't known that to happen before. The usually wait a year or so before they repeat movies.

Have to hand it to RTE, they find the most inventive ways to f*ck it up :

Showing some of the most large-scale and impressive firework displays in the world: Beijiing, Moscow (no, not Hong Kong Daithi), Dubai...

"...and now we go to Limerick..."

...blackness and then a banger goes off.

The event in Limerick to launch the City of Culture 2014 was hilariously awful

Presidential address in the Republic of Ireland at this time of year. Never noticed one before. Are you confusing it with the Queen's speech on Christmas day in the UK?

For me, the music always seems to be a bit random - no cohesion between the songs.

    re Welsh Megaman

Agree - if I were DJ for something like that I'd go deaf spending 6 months working out a mix!

Jools show was great, too bad about Ray Davies.
I love the Kinks but he really seemed to be rolled out onto stage straight from the old folks home.

Nothing on TV tonight to my liking, so I watched RTE's NYE coverage on the player for the first time (I know, I know).

As some posters already pointed out, sad to see Joooooooeeeeeeeee Duffeh turning a celebration event into misery porn.

Thank god for Madness, who are always magnificent (I chuckled when cameras cut to a shot of a young couple arguing during 'My Girl' :D).

And as for Will Leahy using the word 'totes'

Not sure if anybody spotted this in the Daily Mail.. (where I get all my news :P )

Rubbish Teilifis Eireann: RTE's New Year's Eve coverage branded a massive turn-off
RTE has been blasted by furious viewers who branded its 'boring' New Year’s Eve coverage an absolute downer. The station rang in the start of 2014 by showing the countdown concert on RTE One. But TV fans were fuming that the show – fronted by Daithi O Se and Sinead Kennedy – turned into a shambolic, depressing affair.

Montrose was especially attacked for deciding to chat to Liveline presenter Joe Duffy instead of showing all the gig from Dublin’s College Green.Viewers switched off in droves at his 'sermon' as he started the New Year on a dismal note by discussing the recession instead of getting into the party atmosphere. Throughout the show viewers took to Twitter to vent their fury. One said: “Joe Duffy is killing the New Years Eve buzz altogether... get a bit of fun lads.”

    :D
