    Hello

I'm trying to find out why my grandfather served a term in prison in the 50s. I've contacted prisons.ie and the national archieves to no avail.

Does anyone know someone who specialises in this kind of thing?

    What was the reply?

Have you checked the newspapers of the time?

The relevant court office is supposed to have the record of the conviction. Considering the lapse of time, there may be practical difficulties involved in finding the information, physically.

If there were newspaper clippings then the national library should have copies.
