    good question.
so a leg is usuall what €25?
so half a leg would be €12?
So have price of that should be around €6?
    Doubt it.... :)

I was in Bloomfields at the weekend and it was €12-15 for a leg .. seems like about half price to me (for fresh Irish lamb, not frozen NZ lamb)

And is anyone else sick of the same comment every single time there's a Tesco meat BA? I get it, i don't care what you think, change the bleedin' record!

I got a whole lamb, completely cleaned, butchered and portioned from local farmer for 150. Supermarket lamb is totally overpriced

thats a very good price for a whole lamb.....

lamb prices this year were very high around the 125 mark. Getting it portioned and butchered for 25 yo yos is a steal. Can you pm me the details of this farmer/butcher?

Those legs of lamb in tesco are €12.50
Cooked one yesterday, really nice, tender and tasty

As soon as some people see Tesco, they get ready with their negativity.

We find the meat in Tesco to be much better presented than that in Dunnes so seldom buy it in Dunnes.
    Anybody else think the same?

I find that all the shops have certain quality meats ,I really like the angus beef in tesco and also they're finest range sausages.
    Each to their own though.

How would you cook a leg of lamb?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,417 ✭✭✭finbarrk

Just roast it in the oven. 180 c, throw a pint or 2 of water in with it. 2-2.5 hours.
Well thats what I do anyway and its lovely.

Bought a nice piece of lamb in Tesco yesterday - It was €5.69 per kg - so my 1.36 kg cost €7.42.

I cooked this last night using a Tesco leg of lamb.
Going in later today to buy 2 legs for the freezer, really good quality meat at a great price. It fed 6 people with some left overs.

My father in law sells a whole lamb fo €50.

Tell your father-in-law to quit while he's ahead. Tesco have found a way to sell six legs of lamb for the price of four:

Just got a leg in tesco this morning. They are now 1/3 off.

Got a nice leg for €20 and got the saw out to cut it in 3.

Not true at all, Dunnes prepacked meat is by far the best quality, and is all sourced from Ireland also.
