Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    While I certainly admired how well made the film was – from the sets to the costumes, it seemed to recreate 18th century England perfectly – I also found it a tad slow and devoid of conflict, which is normal for Leigh. Like Happy Go Lucky, there was no real story to Mr Turner.

    I can't help but feel that some of the critics – Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian, for example – overpraised the film to an extent.
