Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    A vigilante is celebrating after completing a database of 6,000 convicted sex offenders and paedophiles across every county in Britain and posting their names and photographs on Facebook.
    Chris Wittwer said he has created the largest photographic gallery 'in the world' after spending 'every waking hour' gathering police mugshots of registered sex offenders.
    Nearly 18,000 people have joined his Facebook groups since the 34-year-old started compiling the huge online bank two years ago.

    He has stuck religiously to only putting up details of convicted sex offenders by checking local newspapers and court records.
    He then cross-references the name of a sex criminal against the national sex offenders register before giving himself the green light to put up the name.

    He said: 'I definitely cross all the t's and dot the i's - nothing is left to chance.
    'I use press releases from the police as well as local paper cuttings and newspapers' own archives.
    'No hearsay or unconfirmed allegations go on the site. That's how I've been able to continue legally.

    Avoid that area whenever possible and especially try and tell my child to keep out of that area.

    I don't know if I agree with this 100% Some people get labelled sex offenders for things nowhere near as big a crime as paedophilia and I'm not sure if it's right to tar them with the same brush. This could potentially destroy their lives, most probably will destroy their lives. The punishment doesn't fit the crime in every case.

    It is hard to know what to make of this. It is probably good to know the type of people who live near you. However, what happens if a conviction is overturned? Is the database updated accordingly?

    Plenty of reasons why it's a bad idea.

    Can't find the link but there was an article going around a while ago where a guy was put on the sex offender's register after being caught opissing in public. Counted as indecent exposure or something.
    He paid the fine etc but anytime he goes for a job now they check it and hes immediatly declined for taking a piss in public.

    Anyways, point is there's always going to be some guy who gets attacked for abused when his name is on the register for something that wasn't devious at all.







    And no it wasn't me.

    My problem with this is that it's convicted sex offenders, not all paedophiles.

    You can be done for a sex offence for all sorts of bull**** FFS.

    I don't know if anybody here remembers when a certain British tabloid printed a list of paedophiles some years back resulting in mobs going around estates attacking suspected paedophiles, including this lady who was forced to move house when graffiti was dubbed on it saying she was a 'paedo'. She was a paediatrician - yes, you guessed it, she was a medical doctor who works with children. One of her neighbours defended the attack thus: "I heard that the doctor's house had got attacked, but it's because people don't want no paedophiles here .... If you've got children like me, then you can understand why people are worried about perverts."

    Astonishingly depressing stuff.
