Kilkenny 2.19 Dublin 2-10 full time. Dublin second goal with last puck of the game.

KK minors won fairly comfortably. It shows that the poor performance earlier in the championship against Dublin in Nowlan Park was just a once-off and can be forgotten about.

And the first wasn't much better. Dublin were poor, very poor. Two scores in the first 15 minutes of the second half won't win you much.

KK justified favourites for the All-Ireland now, particularly to recover after only scoring 0-3 against the same team earlier in the competition.

We'll see how Limerick & Waterford get on in the Munster final.

    Limerick minor team named yesterday:

    1. Eoghan McNamara (Doon)
    2. Sean Finn (Bruff)
    3. Paddy O Loughlin (Kilmallock)
    4. Jamie Porter (Monaleen)
    5. Lorcan Lyons (Monaleen)
    6. Ronan Lynch (Vice-Captain) (Na Piarsaigh)
    7. Andrew La Touche Cosgrave (Monaleen)
    8. Robbie Hanley (Kilmallock)
    9. Colin Ryan (Pallasgreen)
    10. Seamus Flanagan (Feohanagh/Castlemahon)
    11. Barry Nash (South Liberties)
    12. Cian Lynch (Captain) (Patrickswell)
    13. Conor Fitzgerald (Claughaun)
    14. Tom Morrissey (Ahane)
    15. Peter Casey (Na Piarsaigh)

    Subs:
    16. Cian Hedderman (Ballybrown)
    17. Edward Doyle (Monaleen)
    18. Darragh Fanning (Pallasgreen)
    19. Thomas Grimes (Na Piarsaigh)
    20. Brian Ryan (South Liberties)
    21. Aaron Gillane (Patrickswell)
    22. Conor Byrnes (Murroe/Boher)
    23. Conor McSweeney (South Liberties)
    24. Brian Fanning (Pallasgreen)

Looks like one change from the team about Cork, Robbie Hanley back into the team at the expense of Thomas Grimes.

Conor McSweeney & Brian Fanning on the bench ahead of Conor Boylan & Eoghan Costelloe.

Still surprised that there's no Dylan Dawson or Shane O'Connell if they're fit, but hopefully this team is good enough to win through.

Kilkenny have laid down a marker, it's up to Limerick & Waterford to step up now and show that they are All-Ireland contenders. A repeat of last year's Munster final, obviously the dominant forces in the Munster minor hurling world :p

Waterfords fifth final in 6 years and Limerick reigning champions, both there on merit no doubt about it.

Waterford team named, only one change with David Prendergast back in for Eddie Hayden. On the phone, but the team is available in the Waterford thread.

Minor team for sunday has been announced
    1. Billy Nolan
    2. David Prendergast
    3. MJ Sutton
    4. Michael Cronin
    5. Conor Prunty
    6. Colm Roche
    7. Jack Mullaney
    8. Darragh Lyons
    9. Andy Molumpy
    10. Shane Bennett
    11. Conor Gleeson
    12. Cormac Curran
    13. Peter Hogan
    14. Aaron O Sullivan
    15. Patrick Curran

    There we go.

Patrick Curran is a class act; Sutton, Roche, Bennett & Cormac Curran were all good last year too.

Limerick have huge potential, but haven't put together a consistent 70 minutes yet. Maybe 15/20 minutes together max..... they have the potential to blow teams away when they hit full flow, but Cork caused huge problems and could have sneaked it.

Best of luck to the waterford minors today - I hope they can play to their ability and see how it goes after that.

    Great experience for young players.

A repeat of last year as Waterford and Limerick draw the Munster final. This time though its Waterford who come back from the dead clawing back a 7 point deficit late on. A Shane Ryan goal just on the 60 minute mark the equalising score

Great spirit from our minors to get a draw
today, no more than they deserved against a very good Limerick side.
Replay is Tuesday week in Thurles.

Was an exciting game, like a reverse of last year's. Waterdford showed serious fight to come back into it, Cormac Curran was immense at full-forward and caused havoc.

Limerick really should have put them away on a number of occasions, but failed to do so. After scoring goals, they seemed to slack off. And Waterford put together some excellent spells, particularly after our 2nd goal, and if it wasn't for the penalty save, we'd have been in a real spot of bother.

Actually, when it comes to penalty and 21-yard free saves; this group of minors are really really good. McNamara & Nash particularly are brilliant on the line, I don't think we've conceded any this year and there have been a few.

Some moments of class from our players, but didn't always take the right option and hit some very bad wides, especially at the start of the 2nd half. Blew Cork away in that same period, it just didn't happen today. Hopefully we can do better in the replay!

Limerick have picked a really offensive line up tomorrow, with Colin Ryan and Ronan Lynch in the forwards. Heard it was a cracker of a game the last day. Would love to see it tomorrow, two super talented sides.

Limerick (MH v Waterford): Eoghan McNamara (Doon); Sean Finn (Bruff), Paddy O'Loughlin (Kilmallock); Jamie Porter (Monaleen), Lorcan Lyons (Monaleen), Andrew La Touche Cosgrave (Monaleen), Conor Byrnes (Murroe/Boher); Robbie Hanley (Kilmallock), Cian Lynch (Patrickswell); Seamus Flanagan (Feohanagh/Castlemhon), Barry Nash (South Liberties), Ronan Lynch (Na Piarsaigh); Peter Casey (Na Piarsaigh), Tom Morrissey (Ahane), Colin Ryan (Pallasgreen).

Subs: Cian Hedderman (Ballybrown), Darragh Fanning (Pallasgreen), Edward Doyle (Monaleen), Thomas Grimes (Na Piarsaigh), Aaron Gillane (Patrickswell), Shane O'Connell (Doon), Brian Ryan (South Liberties), Eoghan Costelloe (Adare) Dylan Dawson (Blackrock).

This will be the first Limerick minor game I've missed this year, which is a pity... will it be on the radio?

Interesting line-up from Limerick's pov, hard to know whether they'll line out like that though, we've made changes in every game so far.

Yet another centre-back in ATLC, who played there last year for a while, before being moved. He's definitely better on the wing, but has more pace than Lynch and won't get turned so easily, and is a better defender than Ryan. Not sure he is the answer though.

Conor Byrnes in at wing-back, don't think he has featured to date. Interesting call.

Will Cian Lynch play midfield? Very possibly... he's so talented, it's hard to know where to play him. He already roams a lot from wing-forward, he'll have even more freedom to do so in midfield, but will be less of an option as a ball-winner on our puckouts. But then you've got Ronan Lynch at wing-forward instead, so no loss really. Wouldn't be surprised to see the two of them swapping, Ronan is an excellent midfielder too.

I'm happy to see Colin Ryan back inside, I hope he plays there. He was good at midfield, and I think he was uncomfortable when played at centre-back, but he annihilated Tipperary in the corner. Won so much clean ball and is so clever at picking out passes too. Will be able to bring Casey, Nash & the Lynches into the game if he can do so again.

It's a serious forward line, looks very well-balanced too... just worry slightly about the backline. Good individual hurlers, but can be exposed and we don't have a top centre-back... we have top players playing there, but out-of-position, it would seem. The same would seem to be true for full-back, Cormac Curran caused loads of problems, as did the Cork full-forward line. Key positions... that we're not over-stocked with at senior level either. I really thought Ronan Lynch would be Limerick's long-term answer at 6, but he does have a serious lack of pace (some would argue that 6 is a position where you don't need it as much as others, but it depends on tactics).

Shane O'Connell and Dylan Dawson are back on the bench, surprised they weren't there for the last 2 games, I think both can offer a lot.

    7.30pm, I believe.

    Any Waterford team named?

I'm happier with that Limerick team tbh, I think we really need to win this game, very tough draw for the losers, can't afford to be fcuking around. Need to be much improved, I think we will be... trouble is, Waterford might be too.

In fairness Browney7, ye've a super set of forwards. There's a great spread right across the line which is important. Hopefully ye will go all the way this year. A bit of luck this time round should come too!!

Great win today after the disappointed of last week.
Well done to the players and management in lifting themselves in a few days.
Back where we want to be in Croke Park in two weeks against the Cats.
Hopefully we can kick on and reach another final, would give everyone in the county
a big lift after the disappointing results the last week or so.

Galway won the other quarter final against Antrim. Both teams appearing in the championship for the first time this year! Hardly ideal preparation for a semi final. This needs to be reviewed in order to have a level playing field for all.

Galways first appearance not Antrims, I think they won the Ulster final by 1 point against Derry if I remember rightly.

It doesn't hinder them very often though. In terms of winning the competition, if that's what we're gauging advantage on, they have an unfair advantage.

Two class players their this year in Brian Burke and more so Conor Whelan, who I think is still Minor again next year?

Can't see anything but Limerick reversing last year's result though.

Other game should be a good match, would make Kilkenny favourites at this stage but the lads have a lot of good games under their belts and are no bad team so could do it.

Yeah saw the Leinster final, they owned it from start to finish. Really Dublin had it lost from a long way out. They also had both teams in the all ireland colleges final earlier in the year.

Think it will be a good game though, was very impressed for 40 minutes last Tuesday.

Hopefully. If we play for 60 mins like we did in that 40 should be in with a shout. I dont think we've seen the best of this team yet, in 4 out of their 5 games they've only really hurled to their full ability when under pressure.
Like today when it came down to 2 points they were able to push on.

It's possible that they haven't but not certain, in fairness I haven't seen much of them. I agree if they did hurl like that for 60 they'd beat Kilkenny, Limerick too but tall order and not sure it's something any team would be capable of sustaining.

Surely the Limerick minors will be playing their semi in two weeks before the seniors play theirs? It would be ludicrous having them play any other day.

No they'll be in seperate semis because Lk seniors didn't win their province whereas KK seniors and minors won their provincial final.
Therefore KK minors and seniors will be out the same day so Limerick are the ones who suffer.
As a Waterford fan, this has bit us in the last few years aswell!

Yes that makes sense. That is bloody annoying though, from a Limerick point of view.

What do you know about this Kilkenny team in fairness, we had to colleges in the final this year which is normally an indication of how good a minor team will be. Dungarvan Colleges won it last year and Waterford won the All Ireland after. Anyway at least we are still in it unlike Cork. Surprised generalissimo frank murphy didnt pull some strings to keep ye in it somehow. You had a ludicrous post, of course a team deserves a 2nd chance no matter what level its at. If thats the case Cork shouldnt have been in the Senior Final last year.

exactly which means there needs to be a change in structure. as it stands, galway are the only team who do not get a second chance. we need to be put into leinster!!!! or else a change to how the minor (and u21) championship is run.

there is a feeling in galway that the only county who would not mind them competing in leinster at underage would be kilkenny. would this be a fair reflection?

I'm from Kilkenny and I don't understand what you're saying. He said that the view in Galway is that Kilkenny are the only Leinster county who would be in support of Galway playing in Leinster at underage level.

I have no doubt that we would be in favour of that. I can't speak for any of the other Leinster counties but I'm not sure what you're actually disagreeing with here!

Yeah sorry I did read it wrong, I read it as Kilkenny did not want Galway at underage! As you said we'd be up for that, making it more competitive can only be good.
