Hi, I bought a house that has a french stone fireplace and its an off white colour! It was unsealed and you would get white chalk type dust on it when we moved in...However after a winter of burning wood and removing ashes the stone has yellowed near the door of insert stove and I am afraid to start cleaning incase I make…

Hi,

Does anyone recommend a product or will plain old water and elbow grease do?
Thanks a mil...Please feel free to move post if not on right place..I figured that those ppl who put in these fireplaces might have some idea of how to clean them..
