Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My son has a Boyu aquarium,http://www.boyuaquarium.com/en_ArticleShow.asp

    But the light stopped working.
I changed over the bulb but to no avail and I think the problem may be the switch itself.
Question is where am I going to get a replacement, are they a generic thing?

    Any advice gratefully received.

The link doesn't take you to a specific aquarium but they seem to list all their lighting units in that catalogue?

Most of the specialist aquatics stores do spares (though it's often cheaper to go to ebay or the aquarium brand's own web stores).

Did you get the tank in a shop? If so, I'd go back there. If not, ID the correct lighting unit and do some googleing, it could quite easily be a transformer or other part, or even cheaper to replace the entire unit. Specialist Aquatics forums can be great for advice on this kind of thing.

It's more than likely the ballast and not the switch. The ballast is very tricky to replace in my Juwel tank so when it went the second time I replace them with LED stripe lights. Best thing I ever did. The light from them is superb with a fraction of the running costs.
