Okay I'm basically looking for a Medicine student to tell me the ins and outs of first year. I have a few questions and I'd love to PM someone who could answer them. You know regarding workload, social life, stress, specialisation etc. Anybody want to help me out?

Fairly sure that a quick search of the forum will give you most of the answers you need for workload and social life. Stress is entirely personal, some will drop out from it, some will never have a problem. Specialisation is a post-graduate issue and is better suited to the Health Sciences Education board probably.
