having a row with a jackass mate of mine. We were watching hardy bucks and there was mention of bluies. I believe this to mean valium, he believes it to mean porno. help us out here

It's a porno(blue movie). At least that's what we used to call them. 20years ago. I just call it porn now though.

Depends on the context I would have thought. I think high dose diazepam (generic valium) tablets are blue..d10's- diazepam 10mg I suppose. My ex housemate had a delightful boyfriend who was into them.

As someone already said, it's all about the context in which it's used. I've heard the term used when someone has overdosed and their heart stopped, causing them to turn blue. It's called pulling a bluey. It's the same as when you smoke too much weed when you're not used to it and go all white, pulling a "whitey". I don't think this is what they were referring to though.

they were always refered to as blue movies.

With so many drugs being blue (Viagra as mentioned and Valium) a name for one like bluie could lead to some VERY awkward situations...

bluies (blue-eys) in the context of hardy bucks refers to "blue movies" as they were called back in the 70's and 80's.

Some of the posters here really showing their age. Pornos haven't been called bluies since the internet changed all our terminology to american style.

Hardy bucks are pretty well up on current drug lingo e.g. "little fellas" for pills. Would be surprised if they didn't know blues mean't tranks or vallies these days.

What else do party people take for their coke/e/meph induced hellish comedowns?

That said it would be a really country bumpkin word for the videos I suppose. and they spent alot of time watching them in Buzz' house.

your right, well put. when i watched it i immediately thought the drug meaning. its the way he put it.. it went something like this, "why would you want to leave castletown, it has everythin, bit of drinkin, schmokin' and a few bluies"

Back in my day, early 90's, Bluies were Blue Speed pills, i.e. they were blue, at least the last ones I saw were. This was England tho, never seen them in Ireland. Thats because they were cheap , clean and they worked....
