Any opinions out there on the best software for doing concrete and formwork take offs, typically for waste water treatment plants / tanks etc with quantities up to 35,000 m3

Do you mean calculating the volumes from a combination of regular/irregular shapes or creating a scheduled draw down from a bulk order?

Want to be able to do the following:
    - Take off quantities (m3)
    - Assign mix type to each element
    - Take off Formwork Area (m2)
    - Assign formwork type, location etc
    - Assign finishing types

Ideally be able to do this by modelling the structures in 3D with the programme capable of producing a report of these quantities when complete. A further step to this would be the ability to apply rates to mix types, formwork types, placing, finishing etc. so as to produce a complete estimate.

There's a few packages which do this like: http://www.tekla.com/uk/solutions/concrete-contractors

and there should be some from the list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Building_information_modeling which might have the functionality you are looking for.

Im using Cubit from Bssoftware. You import drawings and measure off them on screen.

    They are based in Bray.
