Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Trainspotting sequel?

I was just wondering if Danny Boyle, or any other film maker for that matter, had made any progress in turning "Porno", Irvine Welsh's written sequel to Trainspotting, into a movie ?

I had heard he wanted to , but was concerned about the cast looking too healthy and well fed these days,a minor problem i think.
But also, Ewen McGregor apparently has'nt spoken to him since he gave the lead in "The Beach" to Leonardo Di Caprio instead of him.

Even though Sick Boy is the main character in Porno, i'd hate to see anyone else play Renton, or any other character for that matter.

Plus, even if they did get everyone back, would it work?

Meh. Porno was a passable sequel to a very good book, and I don't think that, so many years later, people would really care that much. I mean, I know trainspotting had some changes in the transition from book to film, but given that rather a lot of Porno's action revolves around, well, porno and the filming thereof, it wouldn't be the easiest film to make and market. Add to that a main core of actors who would be, to a large extent, rehashing old roles and you don't exactly have a recipe for a fantastic film...

I think Glue would make a better movie.
