Just a thought... why not order with the cheapest HDD (£680 plus delivery) and add this one yourself? The Samsung 830 is still one of the best SSDs, second only to their new 840 Series.

Or what's your thinking behind a 7k2 rpm drive for storage?

    Thanks for your reply torqay,

I don't know much about the specs to be honest, that's why I asked!

I need a computer that's quick, responsive & good at multitasking.

So are you saying that a 7200rpm drive is no benifit to me?

Is it just a matter of slotting in that SSD that you mentioned?

Need to get this ordered tomorrow as I hear there is a back log at the moment

Fairly easy indeed. Put the new SSD into the 2nd bay, clone the original disk to the SSD, swap them around and format the HDD, job done.

But if you're not comfy with that, go ahead with your specs, fine machine anyway. Just keep in mind, a 7200 rpm drive may emit more noise and will draw more juice, although with a 45w max TDP quad core processor and a GTX 660M, battery life isn't exactly stellar anyway. ;)

Best upgrade you can get is an SSD drive. They are insanely better than HDD. SSD all the way.

I have the the 15 Vortex with same everything but 7970m and 1tb drive and i couldnt be happier. Its superfast. Boots then opens photoshop in 8 seconds.

Ive never seen ram go over 4gb usage so 8 is plenty. Battery with no games lasts about 3.5 hours id say. Just using laptop for notes in college.
