Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    All,

Just wondering if anybody has experience with positioning a room heating stove close to uPVC windows.

As planned, stove is to be sited in the corner of living room. There are two windows starting 500mm from the corner. We will end up with a stove approx 250mm from the windows.

I am concerned that the stove will generate a lot of heat which affects the windows adversly.

I certainly wouldn't do it regardless of what the regs say
see page 28 here, as well as the rest of it :)

The stove manufacturer (and the manual) should state distance from combustibles. My stove is 250mm backing onto my wooden windows, but its within the distance allowed, there is no heat from the back at all. But the sides it states 1000mm and I wouldn't ever recommend going against the allowed distances as per the manufacturers guidelines. Every stove is different.
