Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have to clarify. Just a touch of the wildies - a hint, a flavour; not a bad dose or anything. Yea, maybe TMI.

My fun fact about beetroot juice is that it's used in Twister's to make the inside bit pink! Remember reading the back of a pack a few years ago and I found it strange! Must check and see if it's still used in them

The coffee shop in Laragh better stock up on twisters in that case, you'll have thousands of cyclists looking for their mid spin hit of coffee and beetroot juice there now...

Saw and bought this from one of the Polish shops in Mallow. Only €1.50 or €1.20 if you spend over €20.
Had a glass tastes bad, way too sweet. Maybe a bit of lemon juice or something sour to make it bit more drinkable.
    What do you guys think?

My Polish is not good so some text from the box translated with mr. Google himself:

Sounds like the Beet it shots only far more affordable.

today tested with 300ml beet juice + 200ml grapefruit juice and it is much more drinkable. It might be also that beet juice was in the fridge and properly cold now.
Will test again with lemon juice tomorrow.

Grapefruit juice was with bits so it looks like jug of blood with bone and brain bits :D

My father drinks a fair bit of those Polish juices, mainly the cherry one. They seem awful sugary, if it was me I'd go the whole hog and juice a real one.

    I do my own recipe.

Blend a couple of cooked beetroot, (Tesco or LIDL, very reasonably priced).
Add a glass of apple juice.
Add a SMALL sprinkle of Cayenne Chilli pepper.
    Blend.

Chill overnight and enjoy before you ride.

Fairly certain you have to use raw beetroot to get the full benefit.

Looks like a recipe for a laxative.

Totally agree - most of the good stuff is gone with the boiling water if cooked. Here's my recipe - enough for two people

1 small or 1/2 large peeled raw beetroot
1 large or 2 small peeled or well washed unpeeled raw carrot
1 piece of peeled ginger - about 1" cube
    1 piece banana or pear.
    500ml water.

Blitz everything in a blender and drink it straight down :D

Noticed Michael Rogers (and a few others too) swigging a purple/wine coloured drink at the end of the Giro stage there, which I guess is beetroot juice. So while in the health food store this morning I decided to enquire about the benefits of said beetroot juice, without mentioning my interest in cycling, the reply I got was quite funny at the time: "Beetroot juice? Oh yeah.... it's benifits for sports people are like EPO"!!:eek:
Unfortunately she was out of stock today...:(
