Congrats Charlie. My Register Assessment was yesterday, haven't heard yea or nea yet. Nail biting stuff. Fingers crossed.

Arch Tech and Town Planner Background, a bit of Passivhaus now working for an Assigned Certifier Specialist. Went down the CIAT-CABE- (CABE Building Surveyor Section) route.

Just got confirmation email that they require further information, standard pro forma email, very vague. My 27 page CV didn't cover all basis. Very Disappointing, I believed I had comprehensibly demonstrated that I exceeded the competence requirements in all areas of surveying with more than 2 years experience. Next up September Assessment, time to rewrite the 'summary of experience commensurate with 2 years experience as a building surveyor'.

My ambition of being a 'building surveyor' will have to wait a couple of months.

Finally made it through the Registration board and got placed on the register. As Charliebull said, "six months and €1400" couldn't agree more. Such a relief to finally get it as I'm working for a specialist assigned certifier company. The application for CABE Building surveyor section was a very technical submission, but I was told to frame the Registration board application in plain English as the board is mostly 'lay people' or non technical professional. I was impressed with CIOB's range of workshops and resources, although I didnt use these, as I am only an ICIOB, I did find them very insightful. I'd recommend people ask for their documents on getting registered.

I got great help from a Galway based Practicing Technologist. If anyone needs assistance I guess I'm duty bound to pass on the kindness.
