Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can you get paid JSA right up until you begin a new job?

I am very close to securing a new job (just subject to references now), and have seen that you can close a JSA claim online. On this claim form, you can enter the date the claim is to be closed from, or the day you start work on. Is it a given, then, that you would be paid up for the working days up to that starting date?

I have often read that the moment you find work, you have to notify SW, and have previously thought that you would have your claim closed there and then, even if you start a couple of weeks down the line. It would be a big relief if I could be paid JSA until I actually am on the clock again. Has anyone had experience of closing a claim in this new way?

Yes, you will be paid for the working days up until your new job starts. If you have to wait a month before being paid and if this will cause you financial difficulty, you are entitled to approach the Community Welfare Officer at your local health (HSE) office and ask for a Supplementary Welfare payment to tide you over, this being repayable.

Ok, that clears up any confusion, thank you.
