Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Coming into this thread late, just to get my tuppence in.

Adeboyor is a disgrace to himself, his club, and the sport of football itself. How anyone can get away with behaviour like that is beyond me. A 3 match ban! Should have been 10 at least. It might teach him some sportsmanship.

And he should have been done for assault too.

    So there :D

That's the way the system works in the law courts btw

    you said this.

the FA system is nothing like the courts system. the FA have a disincentive to appealing the courts do not. the courts actually have an incentive to appeal, the constitution. ... the FA prevents appeals by guaranteeing a harsher punishment.
Ah i see, I didn't realise that the FA does this, that wasn't actually stated here. That is different. I would agree, it's not a fair way to do things. I would say the FA are abusing their powers, from an ethical point of view, and it's not a good thing at all.

im not aware of any case either where a judge has increased a sentence without the DPP seeking the sentence to be increased.
It is something they're allowed to do though, afaik, and so it would act as an effective deterent for people who would appeal just for the sake of it.

I think it's fair to say that it was the influence of this video game that led to Adebayor carrying out his actions. I propose that the game be banned from this country.

a straight ban would have been very harsh for a celebration. he was stupid, but no need to ban him; the warning is fair imo.

any of those fans banned from any games? they showed far worse behaviour.

these fines of around 25k that get doled out to players just make me laugh though. it's a day and a half's work for Ade.

How long does a suspended ban hang over a player? The rest of the season? It's hardly his entire career.
Say for example he get's sent of in 3 months time does would his suspended ban kick in then?

Exactly. Suspension is the only way to hit todays footballers where it really hurts!
