Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

USB Video player to new Sony TV

    Hi All,

    I bought this TV recently

    http://www.harveynorman.ie/tvs-headphones/hd-tvs/sony-55-led-tv-kd55x8509cbu.html

I had a Samsung previously and had no trouble sticking in USB drive to play .mp4 videos etc.

The Sony is super but falls short with the formats it plays via USB.

Aside from converting all video I download, is there an option of a cheaper media player like a Chromecast or simular to plug into Sony TV to play multiple formats of video that I download from PC?

    Thanks!

The Sony should definitely support .mp4. Do you have the TV on the latest software? Which app are you using to play the content (the Sony video app or something like VLC player from the app store)?

I find the easiest way was to use a blu ray player and plug the usb into it. Support most formats and easier to control than using the TV. Have used chromcast too casting from either phone or laptop, works ok but may loose the cast once or twice during a movie.
