It can be unreliable due to the long journey and road/traffic delays but an hour would be a reasonable time for mid morning to lunchtime. A train from the city centre would be far quicker and more reliable though it would leave you 10-15 minutes walk from either Castleknock or Coolmine stations. If you need to be there by a fixed time (especially for an interview), I'd suggest you leave as early as you can in order to ensure you will make it or to get a lift/taxi to Blanch.

If you are walking to Lord Edward Street, is there any way you can get it on the quays towards Stoneybatter thus cutting out 5-10 minutes of city travel en route?

you know that blanchardstown is a big place and if not in the sc lots of places are not walkable from it? where is the interview located?
