Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Go on the Bullet, really think he can be a top 5 player in the next year or so.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Delighted he won it but it did get a bit sloppy in the middle. Great win for him though in a huge tournament.

Poor enough night last night with no real close games bar the first one. Barney was very disappointing with an 86 average and deserved to lose. Burnett never showed up at all and neither did Ian White.

Hopefully tonight's games will be closer.

Barney changed his darts yesterday to a heavier, thicker set which couldn't have helped the situation seeing as he only got the darts yesterday morning.

I don't understand why he would use a set that he hasn't at least practised with for a while before. Madness and maybe how poorly he played will make him think twice about doing it again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Ridiculously stupid thing to do in the second biggest tournament of the year if true.

  • Registered Users Posts: 243 ✭✭jonnygiles

Yeah Barney did change his darts to a new set before his match with Whitlock, then practiced with his old set during the second break, went back to new set during 3rd mini-session then finished match with his old set again!

Silly thing to do as he sent Whitlock a clear message that he wasnt feeling fully confident aiming for his trebles. The new darts might work in the long term but he needed to practice with them after this event to see if thats what he would prefer

Ha, assumed there was only 3 games last night on account of it being first to 13 and switched off before the Barney one even started

Wow what a 160 checkout to save the game from Newton

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 563 ✭✭✭buster180

Disappointed with the crowd this year in Blackpool, they usually give the players great order but the premier league panto crowd seem to be in this year booing the players at every chance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 129 ✭✭michaelr666

    Great win Newton

What is the story with Taylor and the feckin hats. He looks like a clown!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Taylor 9 darter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

    Great night tonight.

First match was exciting but terrible standard.

Bunting Anderson was a cracker, he can count himself unlucky he met a top form Anderson. Would have beaten most other players tonight.

Taylor looks close to his best again now, 9 darter was obviously class.

Lewis was always doing enough, still averaged 99 or so and hit the big shots when needed.

Lewis Anderson should be amazing with the winner playing Taylor.
Whoever makes the final from that half will have earned their place.

    Great performance by Anderson.

Quick question lads - re the averages, if someone has an out shot of, say 100, does their attempt at that count towards the overall average or is it excluded?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,224 ✭✭✭marklazarcovic

    every dart is included

    Semis.
    Anderson v Taylor.
    MVG v Whitlock.

    Semis.
    Anderson v Taylor.
    MVG v Whitlock.

Cheers man, did Whitlock up his game or had he an easy route to the semis?

    every dart is included

Pplayer has 76 left, 3 darts in hand.
Scores T20, D16 and busts it.

Whats the effect on average - both score and number of darts thrown?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,508 ✭✭✭✭ArmaniJeanss

Barney (L16) and Wade (L8) both got off to good starts against him, but Whitlock ran out easy winner both times (13-8, and 16-9 I think) but really neither was a striking performance (Barney imploded and chnaged darts mid game multiple times).
Anderson has probably been putting the best figures on the boards though good chance he will do his usual roll over v PT.

Yeah, looks like Phil and MvG again there although I'd love if Anderson was able to have another crack at MvG.
