    Interesting that this issue was not top of the Council's statement but yet RTE chose it for the header of the story - the message is getting through somewhere.

    Yes.....but realistically there will be no ADSL / Cable / Broadband roll out here until at least 2004. This time next year we will have token access by eircom and esat and limited cable access in certain areas. Chorus wireless will still be in "Test" mode and the government will still be "proofing" their communications bill for 2003. I still say A IOFFLINE ADVERT CAMPAIGN is the only viable educational option to help speed up the minister of communications attitude to whole debate at the moment. Do a Ryan Air style campaign for broadband / flatrate for all. There will be the usual whiners about cost ect...but surely we can take out pre-made Ioffline adverts in local gazettes individually and take it from there.???
