Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking to build a fairly decent spec PC for Photo Editing - Lightroom and Photoshop.
Have done a bit of research, and compared a few different parts for prices/specs etc.
So any thoughts on the components, and if anyone can confirm they'll all work happily together.

    1. What is your budget? around €1000 - €1,200 (incl. Monitor)

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Photo editing

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? Yes

5a. If yes, what size do you need. At least 24"

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Card Reader/Speakers/etc.] Yes (probably to all)

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No

    8. How can you pay? Credit Card/Laser

    9. When are you purchasing? 3 - 4 months

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? no

    Part Name
Case Zalman Z9 Plus Midi Tower Case - Black
    Motherboard Asus B85 Vanguard Intel B85, DDR3, Socket 1150, PCI Express 3.0
PSU Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze
CPU Intel i5 4690 Quad Core CPU
    RAM Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB)
SSD Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5 inch Basic SATA Solid State Drive
HDD WD Caviar 3TB SATA 6 GB/s 64MB Cache 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Green
Optical Drive Samsung 24x Retail SATA DVD Writer
    Monitor DELL U2412M - Dell UltraSharp U2412M
Fan ZALMAN ZM-F3 LED (SF) 120MM FAN BLUE LED
    K/B & Mouse Logitech MK270 Wireless Combo
Front panel 5.25" USB 3.0 ESATA LCD Display All-in-1 Muiti-function Media Dashboard
Fan controller NZXT SENTRY 2 Touch Screen Meter Fan Controller

The motherboard seems decent to me. It takes an 1150 chip, which I've picked also. There's 4 DIMM slots, so I can expand if necessary. And a PCI, which I may want to use. It also has display port and HDMI.

I'm happy with an i5 CPU, and plan on using the onboard graphics

250GB SSD for OS and programs, and 3TB HDD for storage (RAW files can be 25 - 30MB each) any opinions on the WD green?

The case (plus an extra blue LED fan for the left side), and digital fan controller are personal picks, that are semi 'luxury items' or 'like to haves'.

The all in 1 front panel has CF and SD card readers, and USB, which the case lacks on the front.

Apologies for the table. I copied it from Google docs, and that's how it showed up.
I can't seem to edit my post now... it just brings up a blank screen.

And I meant USB 3.0 on the front panel
