Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Okay so I will be doing a level 8 course this year but a couple of years ago i completed the first year of a different level 8 course. My question is will i have to pay tuition fees this year?

Also I will not be getting the grant this year so i have to pay the student contribution fee. If I have to pay the tuition fee do I also have to pay the student contribution?

    Thanks very much

    short answer would be yes

Everyone is liable for the student contribution charge.

As you completed one year of a Level 8 already you would be liable for the tuition fees if you return into Year 1 of another Level 8 programme

Was your level 8 the laat time more than 5 years ago

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

The way it is, being an EU resident - everybody gets ONE free 1st year, ONE free second year, ONE free third year, and ONE free fourth year if required. If you have to do any of them years again, let it be in the same college, the same course, or a completely different college, you'll have to cover tuition fees and everyone has to pay the student contribution fund, although if you're getting a grant, you pay a lot less, but you'll obviously have to pay it in full. So it's expensive.

I think the only exception is if you done the other level 8 course more than 5 years ago, not exactly sure though.

Yes if you dropped out 5 or more years ago you can claim it again.
