Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Mods feel free to move.

Does anyone know how to top junk mail arriving in the door step

http://www.dublinwaste.ie/block_junk_mail.html - providesdetails on how to get rid of it if you live in Dublin but anyone know to to report to stop it elsewhere in the country...

On the directory of electors it states that I do not wish to get unsolicited mail but I still get it. My address is Xtown but on the Directory of Electors it is Xtown Upper and Lower so I know where these companies got my address from and in the shredder it goes.
I do not want a Ryanair or MBNA Credit Cards or mail order Birthday Cards :(
Also We do not have broadband and are sick of getting offers in the letterbox

If they have a Freepost address or send you a Franked {pre-paid} envelope just collected up as much random rubbish, stick it in the envelope and drop it in the mailbox ;)

    Have they a Freepost address?
Wrap up your telephone directory and sent it to them

There was a thread on here before about getting them back... I think some boardsie sent chorus a tyre in the post and got them to pay for the postage! :)
Someone might be good enough to link that for ya.

Haha, I laughed hard at that!

    I hope thats true.

I put a Clear sticker with black writing on my letterbox saying "no junk mail or plastic bags"
The amount of crap we get trough the door has significantly reduced,
i had my doubts at the start as most of the people delivering the crap dont speak english but it works

    Taken from Bash.org

<wolf> 1. Save every Free Credit Card Offer you get, Put it in pile A
<wolf> 2. Save every Free Coupon You get, put that in pile B
<wolf> 3. Now open the credit card mail from pile A and find the Business
    Reply Mail Envelope.
<wolf> 4. Take the coupons from pile B and stuff them in the envelope you hold
    in your hand.
<wolf> 5. Drop the stuffed to the brim envelopes in your mail and walk away
    whistling.
<wolf> I have now received two phone calls from the credit card companies
telling me that they received a stuffed envelope with coupons rather
then my application. They informed me that it they are not pleased that
they footed the bill for the crap I sent them. I reply with "It says
Business Reply Mail" I'm suggesting coupons to you to ensure that your
business is more successful. They promptly hang up on me.
<wolf> Now, I did this for about a month before it got boring, so I got an
added idea! I added exactly 33 cents worth of pennies to the envelope
so they paid EXTRA due to the weight. I got a call informing me about
the money, I said it was a mistake and I demanded my change back. After
yelling at the clerk and then to the supervisor they agreed to my
demands and cut me a check for the money. I hold in my hand at this
very moment a check from GTE Visa for exactly 33 cents.

...delicious spam. Also, that tyre idea is brilliant.

I did not say I did not want broadband I said we dont have it.. i.e. we cannot get it..

More junk from Perilco about their offers for Broadband yesterday evening.

thanks for your replies ... I think filling an envelope with crap and sending it back is great.

If these companies have a hold of directory of Electorate lists, how long can they use them for?
