Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ta! totally untouched - just my Nokia phone. The amount of people stopping to look at the sunrise that morning was amazing.

You are right from a distance it would remind you of an ash tray with cig buts,

The round stone was used for mass offerings in penal days,

This is the very old bridge in Golden. A ruined Norman fortress stands beside the bridge where, reputedly, in 1690 King William III renewed the Royal Charter of the City of Cashel (I have not been able to verify this though beyond wikipedia).

This is the view of the priory. It is a vast complex, and the bridge is visible in the center left of the photo:

The stream that ran beneath the bridge is now dry. Here is a view from the river bed looking up at one of the arches of the bridge (the stone work is original):
    DSCF3347.jpg

Just beyond the bridge this is the view into the priory:

It is filled with effigies, spiral stair cases, arches, alters, and magnificent medieval architecture. All in a field, all free to visit and wander around. Also, a great place to go to at dusk for a deliciously creepy experience.

Cool picture ^^. There are a few old ones like that in the Galtee Inn as well. One shows the square in Cahir before the trees were planted. Looks strangely bare.

Yeah. I have a few pics like that. Some from the a lot of the decades in the 1900's. Mad to see the way towns have changed. I have this one of the Barracks in Cahir. I'd love to see more of it, but there doesn't seem to be too many doing the rounds. AIBP Cahir, now occupies the site, and you'd never know there was a barracks there if you were ever in AIBP. Only some of the boundary walls exist still.

The best place so far i have found for a variety of images has been

    http://www.ihpc.ie/

    Cahir for example:
    http://www.ihpc.ie/ihpc/main/Town.asp?iTownID=908&iCountyID=29

its a pity about the watermarks though and they are not very big :(

Excellent find there. I have a lot of those pics. Some I don't have, and some that they don't. Like you said, pity about the watermark, but I suppose if it wasn't there, you wouldn't need to buy from them.

There's one pic there that was bought in an auction last year or two, that was sold for €1500, I'm led to believe. I knew someone that was interested in it, but only found out after the auction. The guy that bought it, died last week it seems.
