    Hi guys,

Quick question. Immersion seems to be acting funny. Water seems to be coming out of kitchen taps scalding (a lot hotter than previously ) but when you go to take a shower the hot water is gone very quickly. Dont seem to remember it being like this before. Could it be limescale build up on the element?? There is a slight noise or hiss from it which could sugget this..Any suggestions?

The immersion usually has two Elements. One short Element for the Sink which heats the top of the Tank and one for the Bath which heats the whole Tank. it sounds like the Bath Element is gone.
If you leave the immersion on you should be able to tell if the bottom the Tank is heating.

If you are getting scalding hot water it is usually an indication that the immersion thermostat needs replacing.
When the shower runs cold immediately try the nearest hot tap to see if its getting hot water.
If it has hot water then its most likely that the shower thermostatic cartridge is shutting down the flow of hot water because the water is too hot.
