Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not really Bangernomics but at the same time you would be saving a bundle on tax and insurance.

if i would have 3k to spend, i would pay whole 3k for it, not 2700eu. i always wanted one of these.

As nice a it is, I'd be holding out for a 240Z. I'll probably end up importing one when after a few years of solid work.

Wasn't it up for a long time with different pictures, and no nct, and I thought more miles. Could be wrong....but.....

    Yep, that's it alright.

Mileage has always been 50-something since I spotted it late last year iirc.

As mentioned, the 240z is by far the more desirable one to go for. unfortunately, prices also reflect this and getting a right hooker without rust is as rare as hens teeth.
The models after the 240z all grew for the American market, including electric windows and air con. As a result the engine size increased to cope with the extra weight - hence the 260z and 280z.
The purist will always go for the 240z (unmodified of course). The original, lightest and best handling one.

€425 but no mention of what's wrong with it..
No bad lights on the dash though.

Agree with you there, couldn't empty the damn thing of petrol, and you can park it in shop doorways (well nearly)

Well they would definitely fit between the bollards/posts separating the car parks in Liffey Valley SC allowing some pretty lairy parking maneuvers !SUCH fun cars -AND reliable (apart from clutch cable !!!:-( )(But that could be changed in 15 mins on the road as you got used to it !!!)Once drove 200 miles plus on UK motorways in savage cold ,sub zero wind chill ,icy conditions .Only thing that was an issue was rubbers in wipers freezing solid!Carried a piece of furniture that wouldnt fit in a Ford Cougar or 7 Series.Could be surprisingly spacious as practically no wheel arch intrusion into rear hatch area .FIRE engine if well looked after could have IMMACULATE oil running through it at 50k miles ...if not cared for could be a far grimmer story!Exhausts didnt last long ,nor did hand brake cables or outside of drivers seats .Would still love a mint low miles one now .Even the 899cc Cinq was fun ,sure the 1108cc was MORE fun but not massively so.Of course safety was always a concern ,read some horror stories of guys badly knocked about in 20/25mph shunts BUT I survived having a Transit rear end me (admittedly slow enough ) and believe it or not the car only needed a rear lens ...the crack in bumper was barely worth talking about despite fact insurers paid settlement on vehicle as 'write off'...Are they aging well or dying a death ?MPG in 1108s only early mid 40s ...the 899cc would get close to 50mpg but not over .Having said all that I wouldnt want to pay over 500 for a minter and rough ones worth nothing ...(?) Id bet some chancers are looking for big bucks for nice Sportings -will prob be worth it an all in a few more years .Cinq was always more 'authentic' ...

I would not care what engine inside of it as it would get rb20det or rb25det inside of it If I could put my hands on it.

Thought a laguna estate is called a prestige?

Nope - Prestige is a trim package, like Dynamique & Initiale. The Mk1 had trims denoted by letters in most cases - RN, RT, RTE with the occasional special edition like the Elize & Executive.

Sport Tourer is what they called the Mk2 & Mk3 Laguna estates anyway. Not sure about the Mk1.

Nope. Prestige is what the estate version was called in Ireland, but only the Mark 2. It was confusing I know. Sports Tourer was the denomination in the U.K.

Seriously? So how did they differentiate between the different trim levels? They hardly all came with full leather etc

Ours was a UK import (brought it over myself) which was why I thought they were all Sport Tourers. 1.9 dCI Dynamique Sports Tourer - what a mouthfull! :D

    this alarms me:
"WILL BREAK IF ENOUGH ENQUIRESTHE BODY OF THIS CAR IS EXCEPTIONAL
    INSIDE IS IMMACULATE "

they basically say - well everything about the car is great accept the engine and gearbox....

And, these cars are well known for soft gearboxes. I'll bet the box is fooked.

Entry level in the prestige (estate) was the Sport followed by the higher spec Super Sport. To add to the confusion they then added a middle spec version called Sport Plus.

Even more confusing was the use of the regular spec level naming for the entry level hatchback which for some reason was called the Autentique!

Yes, a rare sight on the roads....

As for that car, if its still there today, I'll make sure it isn't ;)

See this car people? I decided today to have a gander at it as it's my day off. After some sketchy vague directions and an agreement to meet the next day, I rang in the morning again and made it to Galway city.

I decided I'd ring the owner there. Hung up on me. Maybe his battery has ran out, tis after 3, I'll wait a while.

Tried after 6. Phone rang twice, hung up. Tried again after a few minutes, hung up again.

To say I'm pissed off is an understatement, I've wasted my f*cking day on a wild goose chase. 260 miles clapped up, 11 hours of my day I can never get back. Thanks a lot

The location of the car has also changed since

So here's a word of warning people: beware!

This has been a lesson for me today, try not let it happen to you :)

from my experience with one of these yokes you'd need to pay me to take it.. diesel injectors, and injector pump bill was 2 grand.. Not saying this one has the same problems of course!

Beautiful 406 coupe, lovely colour, new nct seems in good nick, price a little high and seems not to have leather but would be a great steal for a grand....then again I'm biased as I just bought one for 700 (without nct, but has since passed) and am still in honeymoon period, wish mine was this colour!

This is the best value GS 300 of that vintage on Donedeal at present.
Considering I sold a 98 with similar spec and mileage last April for a grand, this could be a bargain if you're in the market for trouble-free luxobargenomics.

And the paintwork on mine was nowhere near as good.

Are these 406's any good or do they suffer the usual French issues?

I can't see what engine it has (on a mobile :()

Seeing as its a D9, my main concern electrically is the BSI plugs which get damp and cause all sorts of electric gremlins.

Airbag light is usually a dodgy connector

Try to get one with a bosch ecu, some had siemens try to avoid them

Apart from that they are fairy comfy, economical and munch miles no problems :)

ST is a trim level, the 2 I think is an error, open to corrections :)

Without seeing the vin or start of engine code I can't tell! Most likely a 90...
