Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I have installed this shower and it works ok. One problem I notice is the time taken for it to heat up 15-20sec during this time it is pumping out cold water. I have not measured the volume say it is 1 litre ,so a small family would use 1000 litres a year before the shower is effective. Is this heat-up time normal,or can it be reduced it seems a large waste of water.

    That sound about right. It has to heat the water in the little tank inside the unit and then that has to be pumped through the hose to the shower head. The only way it could be instant would be if the heating unit could be put in the shower head, which would be certainly impracticable. You will also have a little lag at your hot taps. Such is life.

    Your shower uses 8.5KW or 9.5kw of power. 8.5kw is the norm. Lets say you have a 10 minute @ 8.5KW shower at 3 to 6 litres per minute. If you had a power shower (taking hot water from your hot press) you woul use 10 to 18 litres per minute. The element in your hot press uses 7KW when both sink & bath switches are on. You would need this on for 30 to 60 minutes @ 7kw to get a 10 minute shower.

    As you can see Electric shower is better value than a power shower. Uses less water, you'll see this with the new meters coming in.
    Having said that I love my power shower!

    Now that's a project for someone. Create a device that will divert the runoff waterbp back to the tank until it reaches the required temp.
