Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you have any Christmas presents wrapped up? It could be something like a kid's toy?

I used to hear ticking in my bedroom in my parents house. My mother always said it was an insect called a clock. I used to just hear it when the house was very quiet

Have you checked for a Safe in your floor that you until now did not know was there - but you have neither key nor combination to?

Funnily enough, I did just now discover a previously unknown safe in that hole in the floor I've been meaning to check out for the last year. I have neither key, nor combination, nor jackhammer. The safe is making a beeping noise. :(:(:(

Oh I remember them. We were told a common supersitious nonsense old wives tale never to kill one because that makes it rain. Which in the days of being a kid playing on the street, you never wanted, so we believed it heartily and always saw them to safety if we spotted one.
The safe is making a beeping noise. :(:(:(

Beeps and ticks at the same time - all unexplained - with a mysterious safe thrown in to boot. I feel a 200 page thread is in the making which will ultimately be about as satisfying as astonaidans sexual encounter with a "black girl" and about as uncessisarily drawn out. :)

But we figured out the ticks???

No one every listens to me - even in my own thread. Christmas ruined. :(:(:(

Maybe an insect crawled in your ear, laid a clutch of eggs and they are now beginning to hatch.

    Or burrow into your brain.

    Just a thought.

What kind of vibrator goes "tick"?

a clockwork one... sure your granny probably owns one.. turn the key to wind it up and it lasts as long as a teen getting his first roide

Aren't both of those things evil?

Nah, in the cold light of day, it turns out I was just clicking my fingers.

Now, what the fuck is that Christmas-themed humming noise...

What? The ticking noise was your fingets clicking?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Yeah - that seems to be the case alright.
