Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Online Gambling Top Up = Cash Advance ?

    On my latest MBNA credit card statement is a Cash advance fee of 2.50e.
    This fee is dated the same date and has the same Merchant Category Code as the top up I placed on my online betting account.

    I topped up my online betting account for the Grand National.
    As I only bet about once a year, I don't know if this is common practice or not.

    Are MBNA treating top ups for online betting as a cash advance ? :confused: :mad:

    Surely this can't be correct, and online betting top ups should be treated as any other purchase ? :confused:

    Probably is correct, i remember this being introduced for gambling a few years ago by some (not all) credit card companies.
