Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey,
I was asked to pick out a laptop for someone for less than 500..
to be used for very basic things, office, web, music. Absolutely no gaming or high def video playback.

Hence Im looking for something with integrated graphics, 2gb ram and a half decent proc for under 500..
A few months ago on the dell site this would not have been a problem but it seems their prices have increased quite a bit (their ebay outlet store is gone too :( )

Im trying to stay away from Celeron.. but Im wondering does anyone know if they are still as crap as they used to be? The only inspiron for <500 has a celeron..
What about power consumption? More or less than a c2d?

    Couple of options here..
    This
    or This ..

Would appreciate any other suggestions. Budget laptop, under 500, pref C2D for basic web/office/music. Thanks.
