Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Acer Laptop?

I'm buying my first laptop and need it to be very portable. I'll use it for internet and communications (Skype), music and photos.

I don't have a desktop and dont want one either. This one was spotted by a friend in Singapore who says he can pick it up for about e1400. http://www.acernotebooks.co.uk/Acer_TravelMate_3004WTMi_LX.T7406.065/version-2.asp

Is it more than I need? I'd like not to have replace it for a while. I don't know of anyone who uses an Acer and would like to know are they reliable.

    Any comments?

What do you mean by photos?

If its just looking at photos then its more than you would need and wouldn't have to upgrade for quite some time.
As for relibility it seems great. i have one and so do some of my friends and they all seem happy with them.

Don't buy an Acer. I had mine just a few days over a year (guarantee up) when the motherboard went. Cost more to repair in Acer than a new laptop. Tried to get motherboard part number from Acer but they would not give to me. Not a great advertisment
