I have come to you my good friends on the Genealogy Forum for a possible bit of assistance.

You helped me greatly find information on my grandfather a few years ago, and I finished up in Pearse Street library getting all kinds of wonderful information.

Maybe one of you can tell me a little more? *Asked with hope*

Can you tell me when the Royal Irish Rifles had prisoners taken by the Germans in World War 1? And where?

You might be better asking that on the military forums here on Boards or a specialist military forum elsewhere online. Have you tried a Google search?

I have tried the google route, but no help. Tried the Royal Ulster's as I was told that is the current name of the regiment. but no luck. Thanks for the links mod9maple

Thanks Ponster done all that, have medal records etc. but nothing regarding his time as POW

Did he not appear in the PoW records ? I'm not sure how much of them survived the war.

Every search comes back as no record.
