Some very nice person decided to be a crap driver and reverse into me, scratch my front bumper and then drive off. It's not a big scratch, about 3 inches long, but it's deep and it's a body coloured bumper (red) and its right down to the black plastic underneath. (I'll post a pic tonight)

I plan to sell the car soon and think I should get it fixed first. Anyone know if any of those specialist repair places can repair a scratch like this without having to respray the whole thing? I heard some of them can do some sort of job where they melt it and blend it in, works really well and is quick and not expensive...

    Anyone here had it done?
    Thanks

To get it done right you will have to get the whole bumper resprayed. Colour coded bumpers are one of the most stupidest ideas ever thought of in the automotive industry. The whole idea of a bumper is to protect the car in an impact. The best solution for protection of these bumpers is to add on bull bars.

But then how do you protect your colour coded bull bars?
"But who will protect the protectors?"
Black, plastic bumpers are the way to go, if its broke throw it away!

Black Plastic bumpers are ugly. Body coloured bumpers make the car look significantly better. But if you don't really care about that, then they are great.

Anyway, does anyone know about companies that do this type of repair?
