Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

when the saints go marching in. louisiana big band style. get the organ player to start it, half way through your walk back down, get the 50 member brass band come running into the back of the church to finish it off swing style. be the best 3 thousand euro you ever spent.

My sis had a gospel choir and they sang this as we were leaving the church. Took us all ages to get down the aisle as everyone was dancing - including my 90 year old grandmother!! Someone videoed it and anyone who has seen it on FB thought it was brilliant.

My cousin's OH chose "Highway To Hell" by AC/DC when they were walking back down the aisle. She had something soppy for when she was being walked up the aisle.

Some of the most popular ones we come across are Don't Stop Believing, One Day Like This, Viva La Vida, All You Need Is Love, and Hoppipolla and Signed Sealed Delivered. Some mightn't work depending on the instrument your singer has with them. This summer we did "Now We Are Free" from Gladiator with a singer, it was cool! I also love "Whatever" by Oasis... sure it totally depends on your favourite bands/films etc, and it doesn't HAVE to be super fast, if you're happy with From This Moment you can keep it. So many lovely choices, let us know what you go with!!!!!

I was at a wedding a few years back and as they left the alter and headed for the front door the theme from Star Wars was blasted over the PA system. Obviously a guy thing. Most hadn't a clue what was going on including myself.

    The power of love.
Not the sappy Jennifer Rush?? Version.

    Huey Lewis and the News.
    Absolutely brilliant opening.

Higher and Higher by Jackie Wilson has been mentioned a few times. Great choice.

John Lennons version of Stand By Me is quality, whether it's uplifting enough.

It was probably the best song I've heard for the bride and groom leaving the church and I've been at a LOT of weddings in the last few years!

It was a nice change from just playing a cd over the speakers.

Fisherman's Blues by the Waterboys is a good one if you have trad/folk instruments

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,823 ✭✭✭Sebastian Dangerfield

We're not having a singer, and we're going for a sped up instrumental of Elvis 'Always On My Mind' for the walk back down the aisle
