Hi guys, probably a silly question but I have to go to London for a few days next week and need to exchange about 300 Euro to Sterling. What is the best way to do this to get the most value for my money?

The post office does commission free foreign exchange, so they'd probably be a better bet than your local bank.

That's exactly the purpose of the 'commission free' advertising, it leads people to believe that the post office gives the best rates but it's almost always the case that one of the two main banks is better. As always, you need to shop around.

Allowing for the banks' commission, this is how much £230 sterling would have cost you last Friday....

    BoI €303.03
