New to Trance

How's it going guys, not sure if this is the right section but I've recently started listening to trance music, don't know too much about the genre or the artists, at the moment I really just have a few random tracks on YouTube that I always go back to.

Just wondering if anyone here can recommend any albums/songs they'd consider to be essential for anyone that listens to trance, want to have some trance on the iPod but not sure what I should be looking for

Best place to start imo, The videos you go back to search out albums/mixes by the artists, then find similar artists, artists used in collab projects and remixes and artists played by the original artist you were looking at.
It's how I learned exactly who I liked and still to this day find styles I like that way.

yep some of the Reactivate compilations is some of the finest Trance ever produced.

Some of the finest trance artists (imo) include
Above and Beyond
ocean lab
Mat zo (particularly the song ...truth is beautiful 1 of my fav's)
Gareth Emry
nitrous oxide
Andrew Bayer
Oliver Smith (class tune called Symmetry)
Cosmic gate

then you have some of the more mainstream artists Tiesto, Oakenfold, Ferry corsten, JOhn o'callaghan, Agnelli & Nelson ,

I like to listen to AHFM (afterhours FM) on Itunes.
Its a trance radio station that is generally 1-2 hr sets of different artists throughout the day.
A lot of the time the sets are available for download on soundcloud.
