    **AVOID UNNECESSARY JOURNEYS IN DUBLIN/ WICKLOW/ WEXFORD FOLLOWING SNOW AND HAIL SHOWERS** You are advised to use Trains instead of roads for travel. *LEINSTER* *WICKLOW/WEXFORD* • Long delays in Shankhill, Bray, Greystones due to the ice and snow. • 2km tailbacks on the N11 southbound from the Balinameesda Bends. • Treacherous conditions on the N11 Enniscorthy/Gorey Rd at Ferns due to compacted snow & ice. * Heavy snow around Enniskerry, Greystones, Ashford and Arklow. • Snow and ice causing long delays in Wexford, Bunclody, Gorey & Carnew. • Avoid Rathdrum and there is black ice on the Rathdrum /Woodenbridge Rd. • Avoid Wicklow Gap, Sally Gap, Glencree & Delgany. • The Roundwood/Kilmacanogue Rd is impassable due to snow.
    *CARLOW* Heavy snowfall in Carlow town. Queue of traffic on Boggin hill outside Ballon towards Bunclody. *MEATH* Conditons have deteriorated and the N2 is down to one lane bothways at Ashbourne. Icy on the N51 Navan/Slane Rd, also around Ratoath, around Trim on the Longwood Rd, also on the Batterstown Rd and around Kells on the N52 Carlanstown Rd, the Athboy Rd & Oldcastle Rd. *KILDARE* Long delays on the Celbridge/Clane Rd (R403) & Maynooth Rd (R406). Leixlip traffic is at a standstill both ways over Confey Bridge. *LOUTH* Drogheda roads are treacherous. •Take care on the M1 Dundalk/Drogheda Rd at J11 Monasterboice. The M1 Drogheda toll plaza is very dangerous. •Very icy around Ardee and on the Dundalk/ Carrickmacross Rd (R178). *KILDARE* Very icy conditions around Naas, Kilcullen, Ballymore Eustace, Blessington and Newbridge. *KILKENNY* Icy on the Thomastown/Inistioge Rd (R700). *MUNSTER* *CORK/TIPPERARY* • Icy around Bantry, particularly on the Drimoleague Rd & around Glengariff. • Dangerous around Macroom, especially Millstreet Rd at Carriganimmy and on the Crookstown/Bandon Rd. • The Ballyvourney to Clondrohid Rd is impassable. *CORK CITY* Avoid Donnybrook Hill & Blackstone Bridge. *KERRY* Treacherous around Killarney especially the Milltown Rd (R563), the N71 Derrylea Rd and onto the Sneem Rd (R568). • The Sneem/Blackwater Bridge Rd is closed. • Take extreme care on the road from Lisheenbawn Cross to Currow village. • The Listowel/Ballylongford Rd (R552) should be avoided. • Conor Pass near Dingle is closed. • The Ardfert/Tralee Rd (R551) is closed to traffic until further notice following an incident on Tuesday night (5th). *ULSTER* *MONAGHAN* Icy on the N2 Monaghan/Castleblayney Rd. *CAVAN* Poor roads around Bailieborough particularly on the Kingscourt Rd, Mullagh Rd, Shercock Rd & Virginia Rd. • Treacherous on the N16 Enniskillen/Sligo Rd between Blacklion and Glenfarne (Leitrim). *DONEGAL* Very icy around Letterkenny. *CONNAUGHT* *GALWAY* Very icy on the M6/N6 around Oranmore, Craughwell & Ballinasloe (treacherous in the right hand lane) and on the Old N6 Ballinasloe/Athlone Rd. • Very bad conditions reported on the N66 Loughrea/Gort Rd. *ROSCOMMON* The Frenchpark/Boyle Rd (R361) and Boyle/Gurteen Rd (R294) are very icy but passable. *SLIGO* Very icy out of Tubbercurry on the Ballina Rd and Ballymote Rd. * Connaughton Road Car Park in Sligo town is closed due to icy conditions. *MAYO* Icy on the N5 Westport/Longford Rd, the N17 Mayo/Galway Rd and around Ballina, Claremorris, Castlebar and Westport.

    ** DO NOT MAKE ANY UNNECESSARY JOURNEYS AROUND DUBLIN.**Very heavy traffic around the city centre most major routes. Anyone travelling today is advised to use the train, DART or Luas.** * All Dublin Bus services are temporarily grounded. * Red Line Luas services are running from Tallaght to Abbey St only. *CONDITIONS* • The M50 has been gritted. However, all approach roads and slip roads are extremely icy. Traffic is at a standstill northbound from before J13 Ballinteer, where motorists are having difficulty getting up the ramp. Nearby, the Drummartin Link Rd is very slippery. Motorists are experiencing long delays getting on and off the M50 at the Ballymun and Blanchardstown interchanges (J4 & J3). • In the city, Bridge St is closed bothways and Patrick's St inbound is closed as well. Gardai are diverting traffic. Harold's Cross Rd is down to one lane at the bridge due to a collision, delays through to the city centre. Delays out from Dorset St to Drumcondra.
    • Heavy inbound from Con Colbert Rd and Parkgate St onto the North Quays through to O'Connell St Bridge. Slow on Caple St onto the Quays as well. • Extremely icy all around Blanchardstown. The Snugborough Rd is impassable. • Poor conditions in the Sandyford Ind Est; causing long delays. Very icy on the Kilbobbin Rd in Stepaside. Avoid the Glencullen area. Nearby, avoid Blackglen Rd as cars are unable to get up the hill from Lambs Cross. • Delays on the N3 Navan Rd outbound from well before the Auburn Ave R/A to towards Blacnahrdstown SC. • A breakdown has been cleared from the Belgard Rd towards Tallaght. • Two breakdowns have been cleared from the N7/Naas Rd outbound onto the M50 northbound. Slow outbound from the Long Mile Rd to the Red Cow Interchange. • Ninth Lock Rd is reportedly impassable. Nearby, the Nangor Rd and Fonthill are at a standstill. • Newtownpark Ave in Blackrock is closed from the N11 to Stradbrook Rd, diversions via Careysfort Ave. • Very icy around The Square in Tallaght and near the entrance to the hospital. The N81 is heavy inbound from The Square. Very dangerous on the N81 out towards Blessington. It's slow both ways on Old Bawn Rd. • Very icy on Grange Rd and Ballyboden Rd near Marley Park. • Slippery conditions now around Shankill, Killiney, Ballybrack and Loughlinstown following recent snow. Kill Lane in Kill O' The Grange is very slippery too. • Continue to avoid the Strawberry Beds and Tinkers Hill. Also very icy on the Newcastle Rd, the Griffen Rd and Chapel Hill. Very icy also on Ballyowen Lane off the N4. Nearby, Gardai are still advising caution on Knockmaroon Hill. • Gardai in Rathmines are advising motorists that Rathgar Ave, Kenilworth Rd, Rathmines Rd and Cowper Rd are very slippery. Avoid Dartry Rd onto Miltown Rd. • The Chapelizod, Islandbridge and Knockmaroon Gates in the Phoenix Park remain closed and are unlikely to reopen until conditions improve. • Woodford Ave in Clondalkin is impassable. • Still very icy on Carrickbrack Rd, Windgate Rd and Windgate Rise in Howth. Take care also on all minor and sheltered routes. • Slow from Clontraf to East Wall Rd due to bad conditions. • Still some ice on the Yellow Walls Rd, also at Seabury and on the Estuary Rd in Malahide. Slippery on the Malahide Rd, particularly between Baskin Rd and Kinnsealy Church.

    Hmm I can either walk or cycle to work, both will be very slippy but I'm thinking cycling might be the safest. Might keep next of kin details on me just in case :pac:

    Thank you, I have to go to Dublin in the morning, Train has been booked for days, was planning on getting the Dart to my house anyway.

    But is there any info anywhere about bus services leaving west clare tomorrow??? Anyone know?

    Cycling is not more safer than walking. Walk.. if you do fall you wont be on the road with traffic.. With the ice they probabbly wont stop in time and hit you. You will get more injurys if you cycle and fall than walk and fall.

    + wear gloves, if you fall with your hands in your pockets you'll get minced.... funny to watch though.
