Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Lads

250 MB is now DEFAULT allocation for any new hotmail acount.
Once you check www.hotmail.com read the left hand side indication in the acount login page and you will see the for new hotmail sign up, MS will give the 25MB initially and after one month (may be early) the acount will be top up for 250 MB
so the changing of location and closing acount and then request to re-activate acount is actually OPENING A NEW ACOUNT in VIRTUAL,
The advantage is that you have same id kept.
But i did not mean to put an impact of thread owner ability
Infact that was appreciated and really a good invent and all marks to him for sharin this.
    for others ,
    see the link

    Regards

I got the 250MB sometime this week i think, only noticed it yesterday.
Have changed back my address since then and haven't had any problems :D
I did notice when I had the florida address the adverts were different.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,797 ✭✭✭Paddy20

Same here, I got my full 250mb inbox only a few days after it was upgraded to 25mb. It is great not to be receiving those damned Inbox nearly full warnings , must consider changing my address back as well, after I have finished looking at the new types of adverts!, although I am a bit concerned that the system might catch up with the Ireland location and change the mb allowance back automatically to the measly 2mb ?...

Anyone found themselves unable ot log into hotmail today? :)

I changed my details back to Ireland, then MSN tells me it can't sign in "because of a problem with your .NET passport". So went to the hotmail main page, anytime I tried to log in, it redirected me back to the login screen, with no reason why. Password was definitely correct.

All I saw was a message on the left saying that only users in the US were allowed the 250MB inbox "after verification". So I though, "MSN have twigged our little scam".

Reset my password, bam, I'm in.

Gonna change my details back to the US ones :).

I can still log in fine, tried just a min ago.

I was concerned about that, as I posted above. However,I covered myself by putting myself down and applying for Google's new GMAIL.COM and got an e-mail about a week ago stating it was now available to me if I wished to register.

I registered out of curiosity and bang ! I now have a new e-mail address with a 1000mb storage allowance :D.

Christ I nearly had another cardiac arrest, and Hotmail can go too hell

I haven't bothered changing back from Florida. Also have a Gmail. Don't like the lack of folders but I'll try it for a while. I like the way it links emails in groups though.

There are folders they are just called 'labels', basically the same thing. :)

Me neither, labels are far superior. You can't sort your hotmail folder based on a search statement.

If you have that much mail that you can't organise it in folders and need to create a search statement to fnd stuff then you have other problems. You only need a search statement in Gmail because it doesn't use folders. Its a completely different paradigm. I don't need to search my mail to find things.

    Well I do in Gmail...

I couldn't be arsed deleting mail in Gmail because it's so much hassle.

I'm actually finding this archiving deal handy as it allows me to go waaay back find mails.

Personally I keep an offline store of my emails that I can include in a backup process. I know I can still do this with pop3 access to Gmail. Best practice would be an online store AND a offline store.

    Horses for courses I guess.

I've no use for an offline store at all.
