Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Feeling Guilty - Stole From Wallet at Library.

Was at the library doing schoolwork and noticed a guy leave his wallet. I went over to pick it up and give to a librarian but, as I really needed the money, I decided to empty it out and leave.

Now I'm feeling pretty bad; but I do need the money. Also worried about getting caught on camera.

Can anyone tell me what would happen if I returned it verse getting caught? What would you do at this point?

Unfortunately if you're caught you'll be hanged.

But on the plus side your brain will be donated to medical science. So you will be helping people and I'm sure that'll ease your guilt.

OP has to steal from poor innocent library users to feed his two-seat bus habit. ;)

No he's a greedy git ( ;) - sorry OP) who pays for two seats so he can study... what a nerd.

You could try starting a terrible parody thread.

And do people leave the seat empty? Maybe he stinks or something because I'd be surprised if someone didn't take the seat (as they are entitled to do).

You aren't paying for a bus seat, you pay to be taken from one place to another, no guarantee of a seat.

No, it was "blasted with piss".

    Sorry. :(

If you aren't trolling and really did this is the sort of thing only done by a scumbag

On the other hand if you are trolling then still in the scumbag zone

Once I saw a wallet lying on the floor of an internet cafe, I subtley gathered it up trying to avoid the security camera and left the cafe hoping there was hundreds of euro in there. It seemed a lot less dangerous to just quickly grab the wallet (it was on the floor under the desk) than go fingering through money.

Unfortunately there was not a single piece of money and just some stupid cards. I ended up going back and leaving it there again. Clearly someone had cleaned it out before me.

Good - my dog is safe then.

I would recommend banking or politics. They are the only professions where

    (1) "I needed the money" is an acceptable excuse for taking every penny from someone's wallet
    (2) you worry more about getting caught than stealing
