Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this. We're travelling as a large group of 16 to the US shortly. Part of that group, is a single mother and her 3 year old twins, but the twins have their fathers name on their passports, not hers.

I'm expecting this to cause issues at the airport, would I be correct? If so, what can be done to make sure she can travel with her children. Is their some sort of affidavit she get signed?

    Thanks

Is there time for the mother to get the passports reissued with both parents' names on the passports?

I am the same, have my maiden name on mine the boys have my Ex husbands name on theirs. Have not traveled as far as USA but I have gone out of Ireland many times with them and have never had any issue. Also my partner would have another name on his passport so we would have 2 kids with one name, me and my partner with 2 other names and never had a problem.

The names on the passports wouldn't be an issue - I have a different surname to my husband so our kids will have his name not mine. Safest thing is to bring a copy of the birth cert to show that she is their mum. If she has legal custody there should be no issue at all. The father would have had to give consent to the children getting a passport anyway if he is mentioned on the birth cert. To be extra sure you could always get the father to provide a letter stating he has given consent or get him to complete one of these forms:
