Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No, it was a full 8pce MKIV set. I did notice a short MKIV set knocking around Inchicore alright when passing one day, but that isn't currently in service.

I see, perhaps it may operate the 13.00/16.20 service at some stage instead of a 8 piece currently. It's actually 6 piece including the DVT.

Only ever ran a MKIV set as a 6pce once and that was during the big freeze in 2010. No plans to repeat that.

I see they could be preparing it to be back at 8 as increased Mark IV use is coming mid Feb going by the JP which is showing 09.00, 11.00, 15.00, 12.20, 14.20 and 18.20 as going back to Mark IV full time.

    Morning all,

Since introduction, the MKIV fleet has operated services on the Cork mainline. Yesterday, a trial train operated from Mallow to Tralee to allow gauging clearance for the MKIV carriages on the Kerry Road. The MKIV set 4008 operated with "River Flesk" GM 217 . Not sure if the choice of loco was a coincidence or not (River Flesk is in Kerry). The reason for the clearance allows the MKIV fleet to be used on private charters & G.A.A. spls out of Tralee/Killarney/Millstreet.

It's great this movement was recorded, that yoke has a strange history, ''jaws'' 740, up on blocks in Mullingar for years, then Thursday September 11th 2008 it's hauled by 077 from Mullingar to Portarlington where it's parked up for another few years becoming part of the furniture, it even got a fresh coat of paint, now it's on the move again, where it's final destination Wanderer, is it heading for the scrap yard or long term storage, I can't see ''jaws'' ever working again.

When in Mullingar 780s bogies were sent away for overhaul, whilst a mechanical overhaul was conducted on site, strange that such a location was chosen rather than Kildare, Inchicore, Portlaoise or Limerick Jnc? I often wonder if it actually did any work after that and why she was overhauled only to see little/no work and then a new ballast cleaner was bought (781), I believe both machines have seen very little work, is it possible that both machines have actually done more work for NIR? (780 is still jointly owned by NIR).

A €10M ballast cleaning programme will be undertaken this year on the Cork line, perhaps 780 is to be worked on at Limerick Jnc to return it to service for this alongside 781? Any ideas Wanderer?

    Evening all,

206 was released to traffic on Monday 23rd February in its brand new striking "Enterprise" livery when it went L.E. from Inchicore to Kildare to take over the 1130 Waterford - Ballina Ety. Timber. It caught everybody out as it was rumoured to be allocated to the 0935 IWT Liner from North Wall but 218 worked this instead.

On Wednesday 25th, it returned from the West of Ireland with the 1140 Ballina - North Wall IWT Liner and I photographed it at Portarlington and Killenard. Today's update also contains photos from Corroy near Ballina from a contributor.

Ah so it did get over to Connolly to collect 077 then. That was supposed to happen on Saturday but never took place.

There really was no rush on fixing 077 was there. I saw there from Monday the 16th. No demand for 071s it seems.

I saw 233 getting back into Enterprise diagrams on Monday afternoon, backing on to a set. Would have thought the 201 coming off and going to Inchicore would have taken 077 with it then instead of leaving there for a week.
