Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don't know where to put this, so feel free to move if necessary...

Anyone know if a HD TV bought in Ireland can be used in England to view digital TV?

    Thanks in advance.

depends on the TV, the TV i have does both.

    HD TV ?

If it's "HD Ready" it just means that it can accept a HD image over a HDMI cable or similar. It doesn't mean it shows a HD image on screen, just that is shows something if fed with a HD image. (possibly 720 rather than true HD)

So freeview/freesat/sky top box will work with it

UK HD DTT uses MPEG4 with a T2 tuner.

All new saorview devices must have a T2 tuner from now, but older ones didn't

So most likely you'll get the at least the SD channels via an aerial if your Telly is saorview approved. If your telly is not saorview approved and you bought it here in the last two years and you have the receipt then go back to the retailer and get it changed as it's unfit for it's intended purpose of watching broadcast TV.

Or google the model number / contact a psychic

As long as you're not relying on the TV's built-in receiver you'll be fine.

If you use a sky box or cable tv provider, then they all use the same coax/rca/hdmi cables into your TV. So it won't matter.

    Thanks everyone...

Wasn't up on the technical side of it, just that I'm moving and have a perfectly good 42" Philips flat screen and don't want to sell it.

Freeview is what I had in mind.

If it receives Soarview in Ireland it will get Freeview in the UK but not Freeview HD.
