I have been cohabiting with my girlfriend, who is german, for the last 6 years. She is at home with our two children. I understand that she will not be entitled to any money because of my earnings but should she be signing on anyway? Is there a requirment for her to let them know that she is here?

if she worked in Ireland at any stage then she could transfer any stamps from abroad (from working) to the irish system which may be of use (untill you have worked in Ireland you cannot transfer stamps If i understand correctly).
Also, if your income isnt so high, theres supplimentary welfare and other things that might be up for grabs along with book alowances and whatnot.

http://www.citizensinformation.ie/ is a great website for information and they also have advisorary centres across the country that can advise of what share of the €20billion + welfare budget you can claim (not to mention some of the €15billion health budget also set aside for welfare and medical cards).

so, of that € 35 billion pot, theres surely something there for your mrs !!

She should inquire about signing on for credits.
