Tried wolfenstein at the weekend. The cutscenes and music are great but the shooting is unoriginal...got bored. Having to press E to pick up dropped ammo and armour is ridiculous

Some would say that it forces you to keep account of your ammo and to play more carefully. It is also an excuse to look around for hidden treasure.

Finished The New Order a week ago and really enjoyed it. Some of the mechanics like
    bouncing the LaserKraftWerk beam
didn't really help me much but overall I found it great with a lot of investment in the characters.

Games finished so far this year:

    PS3
Metro Last Light: Got it with Plus about a year and finally got around to finishing it. Interesting story but nothing spectacular really in terms of gameplay.

Murdered: Soul Suspect: Picked it up in the January Sale. Definitely not a game for everybody and it is very short but I really enjoyed this.

    PS Vita
Child of Light: Not a big fan of RPG and I'm guessing that RPG fans might find this game a bit slight but this was a great little game to plough through. Lovely artwork as well.

Unfinished Swan: I absolutely loved this. A game I've held off buying for a good while but it came up in the January Sale at half price and cross buy so I picked it up. Gorgeous little game. Nothing challenging in it at all but it's really lovely.

    My list now stands at;

    Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC)
    Resident Evil HD Remaster (PC).

    Yeah, I'm prolific.

    adding a few more.
    Pariah (xbox)
    Aliens: Colonial Marines (xbox 360)
    Jet Ion GP (PS2)
    Wet (xbox 360)
    Gears of War (xbox 360)
Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty (PC)
    Road Rash (Panasonic 3DO)
Terminator 3: War of the Machines (PC)*
Yes it's a multiplayer game, but I played every map against bots so i'm counting it.

Completed Super Mario Galaxy, a few mins ago. Good game. Got the required 60 stars to fight the last battle then got the 61st for wining and then completed one more so 62 stars in total. Cannot be bothered to get the 120.

I have the second Mario Galaxy game as well but don't know if I will play it. might do some time in the future as I have had both for years but never bothered playing them.

Resistance Burning Skies - Ps Vita
    Alien Isolation - PS4

    Far Cry 4 - PS4

    Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
    Gunman Clive

Played it previously on vita so not sure if this would count but Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition. Fantastic game, reduced from €13.99 to €5.60 on the PSN store. Bargain, also bought it to support the developers.

Still have to play the inFamous: First light and Far Cry 4. :)

Updating my list to the grand total of 2 so far

    Wolfenstein
    Far Cry 4

Adding to my list, new ones in bold:

    PC

    - Far Cry 3: fun game but a bit of a slog in the end, felt like I rushed through the final act.
    - The Walking Dead Season 2: Didn't have the same impact on me as the first one, but really enjoyed it all the same - obviously it's more an interactive story than anything else!
    - To the Moon: AWWWWWWWWW :( More story than game, tugged the ol' heartstrings for sure!

    Android

    - Leo's Fortune: This little platformer looked and played great; I hooked my Nvidia Shield Tablet up to a 40 inch TV and it still looked damn sweet. Short game, not particularly difficult, but fun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,139 ✭✭✭martineatworld

    Gunman Clive 2 (3DS).

Real throwback to the 16 bit generation. Loved every moment I spent with it, despite it not bringing many new ideas to the table when compared to the first one. Well worth the 3 quid.

    Splatterhouse (2010)

Gona crack into the original arcade games which were unlocked via the main playthrough.

So far - only Brothers A tale of two sons. It's amazing.
I'm waiting on Witcher 3, Batman 4 and possibly (although highly unlikely) Cyberpunk 2077 for this year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 251 ✭✭Fawk Nin

    Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon [3DS]

    Adding:
Far Cry 4 [PS4] - Great game, very much Far Cry 3.5 which was fine with me. Will go back and do more side mission stuff which I rarely do with games. Great world building.

    Far Cry 4
    This War of Mine

Adding Grim Fandango Remastered to my list. Started playing it years ago and never finished it so glad to have finally done it. And it's still a brilliant game carnal.

    PS4
    infamous second son.
P.T. ( only a demo but well worth playing.

    Xbox one

South Park: The Stick of Truth: [Xbox 360]

Best South Park game ever released they say and they are right :)
The turn-based battle system actually fitted perfect. I was wondering if it would have been a good choice from watching the trailers but the developers nailed a good fun south park game.

Sucks that there were a few parts censored tho. I don't mind one or two things getting cut but got sick of that "sorry europe" screen.

    Murdered: Soul Supect [Xbox 360]

Awesome game. Can't understand why it got bad reviews. It's good to see something other than your standard generic shooter. It can be picked up at a very good price so check it out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 58 ✭✭Mr.Buzz

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Loved it thought it made me really sad. Now I'm on Thief, and I'm planning on finishing it and taking a long break, probably until Summer Sale on Steam so I can get Witcher 3 at a normal price.

  • Registered Users Posts: 251 ✭✭Fawk Nin

    Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon [3DS]
    Far Cry 4 [PS4]

Adding: Infamous: First Light [PS4] - Finished it in one sitting. It's about 3 hours long in total. Decent taste of what you would get in the full game. Fairly predictable narrative but it kept me there till the end. More focused on the single power rather than multiple ones in Second Son. I prefer a single power followed through. Good game for PS Plus members.

Ryse on the PC. Have to say I really enjoyed it. fairly short and simplistic but cool little story taking bits from every hack and slash movie ever made :)

Bad Piggies (mobile) - Great little timekiller while in work.
Halo CE from the Master Chief Collection
Halo 2 from TMCC. I can totally understand the stick the game received about that ending, but the campaign was still amazing.

Adding Halo 3 from TMCC, took me awhile to play through it again. Did not like the campaign at all.

    Shank 2 cleared last night.

I do hope they return to the brawler concept after their foray into stealth with Mark of the Ninja and Invisible, Inc. The improvements they made to their combat system were pretty great and with a bit more refinement and some better block and parry actions, they could have something really special.

    - Lego The Lord of the Rings: played the campaign in local co-op with my wife, very enjoyable. Will probably revisit in single player to grab some more collectibles but already have Lego Marvel Superheroes installed and ready to go once my better half is happy to join me :)

    Android

    - Leo's Fortune: This little platformer looked and played great; I hooked my Nvidia Shield Tablet up to a 40 inch TV and it still looked damn sweet. Short game, not particularly difficult, but fun.

Finally got around to finishing Oblivion having abandoned it back in September. I was enjoying it until I decided to do the Shivering Isles quest line, which for some reason sucked all the interest I had in the game (**** you, Sheogorath).

Went back to it last week and mainlined the main quest to get it over with. Played around 50 hours in all, it didn't grab me like Fallout 3 did (100 hours+). Hopefully I'll like Skyrim...

No, I skipped it. As much as I liked Fallout 3, I still felt a little burned out by the time New Vegas came along. Looking forward to whatever's next in that universe though.

As did I. Probably as the scouts aren't game-breakers until they tier up. All strategy goes out the window once you have them. DLC is worth playing btw.

I already own Skyrim (got it, Morrowind, and Oblivion in a bundle in January 2013), so I'll see how many RPGs are still on the backlog the next time New Vegas comes up on sale :)

    Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon [3DS]
    Far Cry 4 [PS4]

    Adding:
Metroid Prime [WiiU]: Arguably my favourite game of all time, definitely in the top 3. It holds up beautifully. In a time when graphics seem to be the be all and end all, this game shows how much more important art direction is than tech. The only downside to this is that I want Prime 4 all that much more now. One of the rare cases where the motion controls actually improve the game. On to Prime 2 now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,309 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

Dead Space [PC] : Seriously difficult game at parts. You get used to the enemies and how to kill them and then new even harder ones come along. Good game though. Already bought 2 and 3, don't know when I will get to play them.
