Anyone with any sort of offbeat or non mainstream opinion seems to get accused of trolling lately,AH in particular(don't know about other forums) is riddled with it and has become constant and annoying.

People should be able to express and explore contrary views without a petty trolling accusation.
If there is a case of trolling it can be reported, the continuous accusing is as damaging to a thread as a genuine troll imo.

I don't think any AH mod would disagree with you. It's against the charter to call someone out as a troll and will be actioned if reported.

It adds nothing of value and completely derails threads. Mods can usually put together a bigger picture of a poster before deciding if they're trolling so it's better to report them and leave it to the mods to figure out.

If you think they're trolling, ignore them.

You can also report the accusations of trolling when you see them.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
