I personally think its worth it but really depends what you are looking for. Its a good Android 6 box that runs K0di very well and a decent remote.
Its just for tv in the kitchen I am going to stream my channels from my Zgemma sat.box through Kodi, the telly is wall mounted with all cables hidden, so I need something really small that can fit behind the tv and be controlled by bluetooth, a firestick would do the job but my only concern is would 1gb be sufficient I didnt really want to spend much more than 50 euro

I currently have 3 fire stick and they all do the job, 1GB is not an issue.

Other option is Nexbox A95X. I bought the following and works perfect

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IVXXN0Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I done review a few pages back, actually probably going to sell it because of USB issues. But if you are not hooking up USB drive then it is perfect and remote comes with it

    Considering this on Amazon
Android 6.0 TV Box 2GB RAM 16GB ROM, 2017 Model GooBang Doo ABOX A2 Amlogic S905X 64 Bits Quad Core Smart TV Box Support Real 4K Dual Band WiFi 2.4GHz/5GHz Bluetooth 4.0

Any opinions? At £59, Would I be paying more than I need to for very little additional benefits?
Looks the part, I wouldn't be a heavy user. Just looking for standalone Kodi box instead of current from PC setup.
Main criteria would be quick to setup and easy and quick to use.

It's very expensive for what it is, a no name brand box, that'll probably have to firmware updates. Better off to buy something has has a reputation, eg: Tronsmart, Xiaomi, Beelink etc.

Thanks for the feedback; wasn't really sure where to start.
Will have a goo at them alright.
Also looking to get a phone at the moment (leaning towards Xiaomi), so might have a look at same sources.
    Cheers

    ^ Xiaomi Mibox..
Having set one up for a pal, I can highly recommend it

1 basic question: Is there a remote control app for your smartphone that lets you control the Xiaomi Mibox box? Cheers.

Will Yatse work on the Mi box ?

Thinking of buying the Mi android box but can see anyone selling any here. Is there any boxes as good as and using same chipset and easy to get. Thanks

Just to give my opinion on the Nexbox now after about a month; https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IVXXN0Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

First off theres a lot of pre-installed rubbish that you've got to uninstall including a crap version of Kodi with addons already loaded. I deleted and downloaded from the play store. The remote is fairly rubbish, does the job but glad I got a Rii keyboard remote as setting up things without it would have been a nightmare. The Kodi button on the remote stopped working once I deleted the preloaded version which is a pain but you can save your most used apps to one of the main pages.

Initially the WiFi was extremely spotty, causing lots of issues with Kodi however it has drastically improved, not sure why but working perfectly now and no issues with any streaming.

Very happy with it overall, glad i didn't spend the extra on a shield TV. Need to get another box for the other main TV room so will probably get another Nexbox though the Mibox is tempting too if there was anywhere to buy it locally. Seems to have its price increased by about €40 to buy from UK or EU suppliers.

I bought from same supplier, didn't think there was much rubbish installed. Is there a better version of kodi on play store? How is it better? But then again, I'm no expert on these things.

Depends what you think is rubbish or not i suppose. From memory mine had plenty of questionable apps on it, in particular a well known streaming app that can't be discussed here. The Kodi that was on mine was not the most up to date version so I presume it was a forked version which could have anything added to it, wouldn't be comfortable using a version of kodi not made by the main kodi guys or at least a well known fork of it.

There is only one "version" of offical kodi and that is on the play store, there are plenty of legit variations of it but most aren't on the play store. Worth mentioning that the official kodi app will not have any addons pre-loaded so if you're not comfortable doing that then just leave it how you have it.

The one I got had about 20/25 "programs" pre loaded onto kodi. There was heaps of porn and the rest were pretty much the same thing but with different names. I don't see the need for 6/7 programs doing the same thing, then another 6/7 doing something else.
One of each is plenty, I wouldn't put loads of different music players on my phone....

Open the box, factory reset, hook upto wifi, delete kodi, delete the rest of the junk, install kodi, put whatever else you want on it and its a decent box, especially for the price.

So am I better to do as you did? Is it difficult to do that?

Yeh, it had a dodgy version of Show*** on it alright! So am I better to do as you did - delete and then download the apps that I need? Is it difficult to do that?

That depends how tech literate you are. To me its easy but I know my family members struggled with it when I tried to show them how. Plenty of sites online that will show you step by step and loads of videos on youtube as well.

As .red. says a lot of the addons are pointless. Personally i've only got two on my set up and thats plenty for what i use it for.

Can yee stop talking about the addons and apps!! Feck sake read the title of the post!!

Don't think I mentioned anything specific or that would warrant censoring. Talking about a key feature of Kodi is hardly not allowed? Never mentioned any name or what they do. If so apologies, won't mention that again.

How is that going to "lose this thread"??? All I'm doing is uninstalling and then reinstalling kodi and some apps.... Nothing illegal in that. Think you should calm down.

Yep, I am but am not sure they can be discussed here.

Wrong thread. Mag boxes are not android boxes. Also, their uses should definitely not be discussed here, as per the thread title.

Is it a dream box then? (I've always wondered what one is), and if so, should the thread title not be edited to remove that...
