    Sub 4 is the conservative target and see how much I can go under it hopefully. Early days to set an ambitious target like 3:45 for me ;)

    Did Kildare 1/2 a few weeks ago in 1:45:22. Thats the most recent similar race which was improvement from 2:03:xx in Dublin last year.

    The way I looked at it before Cork (12 weeks before) was that I could hold 8:30 pace for at least 16/17 miles and that 12 weeks training would get me the extra 9/10 miles. You have 20 weeks, you'll know in 10 whether you're up for it or not. ;)

    Thanks for the offer but likewise I can't do Sunday this week. PMP is 8:30 - 8:40 at moment. First Long Run with a change in pace for me so will see how it goes rather than worry too much about time.

    Vagga, this is an idea i had before and got it again when i saw your run earlier. Might be handy for those thinking of doing Clontarf or anyone looking for a change as there's been a bit of discussion about this in places.

    Flattest run i'll ever suggest and its a one time offer.

    Can't do Saturday, I am up on a stag all weekend. Claralara is probably going to do Thursday as well, so I'll go then regardless. I had thought of doing the mile race at trinity but, I think the mcmillan workout is more important. what about your mate Niall? Sharktale was also up for Thursday I think...

    Waiting to hear back from him. You're right if you can't do Saturday the Mcmillan workout would be more important. I think he says 7-10 days before the race and if I do it Saturday it'll be 8 days before the race.

    See one of my other goals is an 800m at the end of July and I'd like to know where I'm at.

    For the record, the run on Dollymount Strand was excellent, great to run somewhere else for a change, and parts of it were pretty tough going :eek: [ie: good training, which is the whole point of why we are out there!].

    We should add it in once a month or something [and other runs around dublin now and again maybe], to mix things up for the LSR's - while the park is excellent, a bit of variety for the LSR's now and again is no harm at all
